Over the past few weeks I've been formulating theories of who-dun-it? and whatnot but for some reason I always come up short.

Who Raped Veronica?
Well don't we all want to know. So far my money's on Duncan. Why you ask? Because Dick and the other 09ers are an easy cop-out and Logan wouldn't be likely since we've developed his character so much that making him the rapist would basically put him on everyone's hate list. And why would Rob Thomas (RT) wanna go and ruin a perfectly good character who has amazing chemistry with the lead, just for shock factor?

Hence why Duncan is the main suspect. He used to be Veronica's boyfriend and we know that he has epilepsy so that could possibly save him. Meaning, it's still bad if he had sex without her consent, but not AS bad if he was drunk, didn't know she was drugged, and then had an episode, blacked out and forgot about the whole thing. I know it doesn't make the "rape" any more excusable, but if it plays out where he honestly didn't know what he was doing, then maybe it could work out.

I really don't think Dick or the other 09er boys raped her but it is very likely that they engaged in some kind of sexual/dirty acts with her, ie. kissing, body shots, something a long those lines to "have some fun" as Logan put it. At this point I'm still not sure if Logan a) drugged her himself or b) knew she was drugged, whether it was him or someone else to actually do it. What I am certain about, is that I don't think he knew she was raped. From his track record of wanting to save his mom, and coming to Veronica's rescue, wanting to beat trina's bf for hitting her (yes, that was all AFTER the rape incident, but one doesn't just wake up one day and just decide they want to be protective for kicks!) I think he was all up for embarrassment on her part and making her feel low, but I HIGHLY doubt that he'd knowingly let someone rape her if he knew about it. No matter how fucked up Logan Echolls is, I will never, ever believe that he's that malicious and allow her to get raped. That's just a totally different breed of jerk, creep, bastard.

Who Killed Lilly?
GAH! This was a lot less easy to solve/speculate on. Everytime I pick someone as the killer, I rethink it, and they either have an alibi, or I don't think RT would go that route. That said, I've been reading a few other speculations that maybe Aaron Echolls is the killer. I really don't know how or why he would be, but it does add up quite a bit. He's violent, and seems to just SNAP (ex. flipping on Trina's bf and going way overboard). He's got a certain creep-factor to him. I love his character to death, he's nice in one scene and then totally badass and crazy in another. He'll beat his own son, but then will go be "dad-saves-the-day" when he beats Trina's bf for hitting her. It's so odd. I can't figure him out. It's like he's ok if HE beats his kid, but not if someone ELSE beats them. But maybe he only beats Logan and Trina's "daddy's angel", you know?

So I still don't know what his motive for killing Lilly would be, but he definately fits the profile. To my knowledge, there weren't any weapons found at the crime scene (I'll go into this later), and I think Lilly was killed with just one blow to the head. It had to be a pretty powerful blow, don't you think? The only person I can think of to give a blow with enough force to kill her with just one hit is Aaron. Maybe she found something out about him and that was her "good secret" she was going to tell Veronica at the car wash. I don't know. We haven't seen enough Dead!Lilly to really speculate on what her secret was. We know she's a risk taker, she speaks her mind, and she's very outgoing. But if she knew some dark, dirty Echolls secret would she really that excited about it and want to tell Veronica about it? (I read a theory someone thought Lilly was preggers with Aaron's baby, and that was her secret. I honestly DO NOT think that she'd consider that a "good secret" let alone want to flaunt it, you know? Some people's speculations are so far-fetched, man...)

Other people are thinking it was Lynn, which I really don't see. I know she keeps being brought up A LOT which could just be another red herring. I don't see any motive for her killing Lilly. Some think Lilly and Aaron were having an affair and Lynn got jealous, but I don't see that panning out.

As for the murder weapon, do we know for sure that it's that box on the patio table? In (I think) Kanes and Abel's we see Veronica's thoughts of who killed Lilly. We see Jake, Celeste and Duncan, and in each scenario she's hit with the box. Oh, sorry I lie. With Jake, he pushes her away, and she hits her head on the table. So do we know if she was hit with something? Or did she fall on something like the table? Until we know how she was hit, I can't finalize who I think did it.

Ranting
With VM's growing popularity we're getting a huge influx of teenies and fangirls who are all "OMG LOGAN N VERONICA 4eVa" and I feel like it's the only reason they watch the show! It pisses me off (and I dunno why) that people ONLY watch the show to ship a couple. Sure I'm totally on the LoVe Boat, but it's not the only reason I watch it! I love the plot, suspence, even the weird A plots! I love the friendship between Wallace and Veronica, I love how she thinks, I love the father/daughter love, I love so much about this show, that I'm almost offended when people are so fangirly and have no regard for actual plots.

Also, I was reading some comment's to a post made by [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey and it really ticked me off when someone said it was JUST A SHOW and that he/she was mad that people are getting so into it and getting emotional. Now I don't know anyone who is literally bawling at home because of what happens on this show, but I don't see what's wrong with getting excited and into a show. (I may say "OMG I'M DEVASTATED AND CRYING!!" but I'm just joking, exaggerating). I don't see the point of watching TV if it's just pure entertainment and no substance to you. I don't see why this person would watch the show if they aren't into it fully. And people keep saying "oh it's just a show, get over it" well fuck you! It's not just a show to me, or the people who make the show! They work hard to portray the characters they play and if you can't get emotional over a show, then are you dead or something? Do you have a heart of stone? Why are you watching movies/tv/anything not real if you're just going to sit there and not be moved when the music swells and the main character is crying or happy or whatever. I'm not saying that people HAVE to get into a show as much as I do and I'm not saying they need to cry when it's sad, but bashing people who do those things is fucking wrong!

Phew, I needed to get that little rant off my chest. It was really bugging me.

I'm CRUSHED (again an exaggeration) that I'm going to miss the last two episodes of this show! I love it so much! The more I think about missing it the more I get angsty and moody and sad. I NEED to know what's happening! Damn you Peru for making me miss this show's finale! I don't get to squee with everyone!! I don't get to make that initial freak out post 10 seconds after the finale! When I come back no one will be as excited as I am and it will be my own VM party by myself. haha. Anywhoo, that's all I really had to say. What do you think?
